What age did you begin playing a musical instrument?
I began trumpet when I was 9 years old.

Why did you choose the instrument you play?
I was forced by my parents, ironically!

Who is your favorite composer, and favorite work? Why?
Strauss is my favorite composer. Ein Heldenleben is probably my favorite work because it has some of everything— soft, lyrical passages, and loud, technical passages. Plus it’s fun!

How many years have you been performing with Symphony in C?
1 year

What’s your favorite part about playing in Symphony in C?
Playing with other musicians who are eager to increase their musicality.

Where do you aspire to be in ten years? And what do you plan to do?

I hope to be making a satisfying living playing my horn— orchestra and/or solo playing would be ideal.

What are you currently listening to on your I-pod?

If I’m not listening to classical music, I’m listening to R&B/soul.

What other interests outside of music do you share, if any?

Cooking, video games and reading.
