What age did you begin playing a musical instrument? 4 years old
Why did you choose the instrument you play?
I loved everything about percussion. You have so many choices of instruments.
Who is your favorite composer, and favorite work? Why?
I like the symphonic works of Mahler and Shostakovich. The writing is incredible.
How many years have you been performing with Symphony in C?
4 years
What’s your favorite part about playing in Symphony in C?
Working with Rossen Milanov and playing great repertoire.
Where do you aspire to be in ten years? And what do you plan to do?
I now have a great freelance career in Philadelphia playing with all of the best groups. I will continue to do this for many years. I will also continue playing next to my wife in the Philadelphia Orchestra Percussion section when they need me. (She is a Symphony in C alumni!)
What are you currently listening to on your I-pod?
Korn, Pink Floyd and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
What other interests outside of music do you share, if any?
I drive a micro sprint race car each week in the summer. I race on a dirt track and compete with 24 other drivers each week. I sometimes race at speeds upwards of 90 MPH. I also play Ice Hockey at least 2 times a week in different adult Hockey leagues. I enjoy Wake boarding and driving my wave runner in the summer. I also try to get out and golf as much as possible.
