What age did you begin playing a musical instrument?  8 years old

Why did you choose the instrumet you play?  I love the flexibility of the instrument.  The trumpet can be powerful and triumphant or singing and lyrical in quality.

Who is your favorite composer, and favorite work?  Why?  Gustav Mahler, Symphony No. 2.  Mahler wrote really well for brass, taking full advantage of the instruments.  His melodic lines are a great deal of fun to play and a pleasure to listen to.

How many years have you been performing with Symphony in C? The 2008-2009 season serves as my fourth season playing with Symphony in C.

What's your favorite part about playing in Symphony in C? The fantastic energy that surrounds the group.  The orchestra is full of phenomenal musicians that really make an effort to make music together as an ensemble.

Where do you aspire to be in ten years? And what do you plan to do?  I hope to be playing in a top ten symphony orchestra.  Regardless of what I am doing, I hope to have the opportunity to continue to make music.

What are you currently listening to on your i-pod?  All sorts of stuff!  Almost my whole music library is on my i-pod so on a daily basis I am listening to everything from audition lists and current repetoire to jazz (Bill Evans and Clifford Brown) to alternative groups like Fountains of Wayne and Coldplay.

What other interests outside of music do you share, if any?  I am passionate about gourment cuisine and cooking.  It is a great stress release for me to cook a big meal and spend an evening with friends.
