Announces Auditions for vacancies commencing in the 2012-13 Season

Auditions will be held on:

Friday, September 14, 2012 - Rutgers University - Camden*

Saturday, September 15, 2012- Rutgers University - Camden*

Sunday, September 16, 2012 - Montclair State University**

Symphony in C is a Professional Development Orchestra serving aspiring orchestral musicians in the Greater Philadelphia region, New Jersey, and New York City. The Symphony provides concert performance opportunities, professional development experiences, and educational programs.

The base pay scale for the 2010-11 season will be $85 for rehearsal; $51 for sound check prior to a performance and $116 per concert service. Musicians are paid on a per service basis.

  • Five Season Concerts per year, as well as other performance opportunities.
  • Concerts for Young People concert services (two 45-minute concerts per service).
  • Educational outreach services for chamber ensembles.
  • Professional Development Seminars and Workshops

Auditions are open to students pursuing a degree at a college, university, or conservatory and recent graduates. To apply, mail or e-mail letter and resume in addition to audition time preference (Fri. Sat, Sun.) to address below. We will try to accommodate your request, but can make no guarantee. (Please note that the Sunday auditions will be held at Monclair State University)

Audition repertoire: Strings- Two contrasting solo compositions (or movements) of your choice, no orchestra excerpts required. Winds and Brass- One solo composition and three contrasting excerpts of your choice.
