Professional Development Internship Program
Symphony in C’s Professional Development Internship Program, the core of the organization’s mission, is the focal point of the Symphony’s commitment to developing the careers of young musicians. This program works in cooperation with universities, colleges and conservatories across the Mid-Atlantic region. The Symphony’s Professional Development Internship Program provides students pursuing a music degree the opportunity to gain valuable professional performance experience while receiving a stipend to cover the cost of their educational expenses. Serving 78 professional development interns annually, the Symphony’s artistic standards have risen to critically acclaimed levels. The Symphony’s programs are focused to complement and enrich the educational experience of musicians currently pursuing a degree in music and those who have recently graduated from universities and conservatories who are making the transition to a full-time, professional orchestra.
Alumni of the program hold positions with major orchestras worldwide including The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Seattle Symphony, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to name a few.For more information on this program and for audition, click here.
