Symphony in C is committed to partnerships with diverse organizations throughout the communities we serve in order to carry out our programs and fulfill our mission. The following partnerships are essential to Symphony in C’s success in performance, educational outreach, and audience engagement and development.
Performance Partnerships
Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts
Symphony in C, entering its fifth full season performing in the City of Camden,has forged a strong partnership with Rutgers University-Camden and the Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts in order to provide our audienceswith world-class performances in the acoustically pleasing Gordon Theater. Symphony in C and Rutgers work together to create a safe and enjoyable concert-going experience for audience members, collaborate in joint marketing and advertising efforts, and work together to most effectively engage the Rutgers University-Camden community by working with students, faculty and staff throughout the year.
UrbanTrekkers & UrbanPromise
Symphony in C continues its partnership with UrbanTrekkers, the expeditionary learning program at UrbanPromise. High school students from theUrbanPromise Academy volunteer at all season performances as the Symphony's ushers and concessionaires. The usher and concessions program is designed not only to expose students to classical music but to provide students with the opportunity to further develop their interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills. Greater Camden Partnership - Clean and Safe Ambassadors
Symphony in C recognizes that patron safety and comfort are crucial to a successful and enjoyable concert experience. For this reason,Symphony in C works with Greater Camden Partnership Clean and SafeStreet Ambassadors to create a welcoming and safe presence around the Gordon Theater and the Rutgers University-Camden campus. Greater CamdenPartnership is a public-private collaborative organization committed to the revitalization of the City of Camden through business development.
Astral Artists
Symphony in C and Astral Artists are both committed to the career development of young musicians. The Symphony is committed to strengthening the careers of orchestral musicians and Astral is committed to strengthening the careers of rising soloists. Symphony in C has featured Astral artists including Katherine Needleman, oboe; Nicolas Kendall, violin; Karen Slack, soprano; and Jason Vieaux, guitar. Through this collaboration, Symphony in C performs on Astral’s Rising Star Series at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia.

Educational Partnerships
Symphony in C has a longstanding partnership with Kingsway Learning Center through its Classroom Symphony music education program, which was initiated at Kingsway Learning Center in 1992. This partnership began as a joint effort at making music a living presence for students with learning and developmental disabilities, and to educate them about classical music and artistic expression. The Symphony continues this partnership with Kingsway, and now performs similar services to for schools of all sizes and ages throughout Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester Counties.
